The first trailer for the documentary What We Left Behind was released: Looking Back at Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. The trailer revealed interviews with the acting set, remastered footage from the series (Emissary, The Siege of AR-558, Change of Heart, Shadows, and Symbols, The Wire, Wrongs Darker than Death or Night ...) as well as animated attachments from the never-completed eighth season.
The documentary was directed by Ira Steven Behr (showrunner and executive producer DS9) and David Capone (The Captains, For the Love of Spock). The executive producer is Zappone, and the other producers are Behr, Kai de Mello-Folsom, Joseph Kornbrodt, and Luke Snailham.
It is especially interesting that What We Left Behind will deal not only with the past of this cult series but also for the future, because Behr, apart from the actors, also managed to bring together scriptwriters who will present the mythical eighth season. Let's recall, although the final of the DS9 was declared the best and most emotional finale of the Star Trek series, some issues remained unresolved. Two for the fans are the most important fate of Baylor, the planet around which the majority of the shop was turning, and the titular captain Benjamin Sisak.
It's been revealed in March that Shout is! Studios obtained distribution rights for a documentary for various platforms, including cinema. Now we know that some will really have the chance to see dox in American cinemas, and that's 800 in them, but only overnight, or more precisely on May 13th. But first of all, on April 25, the documentary will be available for streaming to all those who have used their platinum to support this project. But only a limited number of hours will be available, but the idea is that everyone who supported the project gets a chance to enjoy Dox before it gets to the movies, while, of course, when they get discs, the documentary can watch as much as and when they want. More details about DVD and Blu-ray editions arrive next month after a one-day show in the cinema.
What We Left Behind: A Look Back at Star Trek: Deep Space Nine is produced by 455 Films and Tuxedo Productions.
