Apple announced yesterday the results of earnings for the last quarter, which brought bad news for the company. But while iPhone sales fell by as much as 15%, Apple recorded a new record.
The technology giant announced that there are 1.4 billion active devices in the world signed with the name Apple, which include all models of iPhone, Mac computers, iPad, Apple TVs, iPods, and Apple smartwatches.
Of all these devices, as many as 900 million of them are active iPhone models, which means that there are 9% more active iPhone devices in the world than in the same period last year.
"Although we are aware that we miss a lot of profits, we are managing the company with a look at the future. These last quarter results show that the strong points of our business are the prevalence and coverage of the entire world, and the numbers of 1.4 billion active devices are a new record for the company, "said Tim Cook, Apple CEO.
Apple first exceeded the number of 1 billion active devices in 2016, and in 2018 the figure was 1.8 billion. In comparison, Google announced that there are more than 2 billion active Android devices in the world since 2017.
