Scientists from the US space agency NASA released a statement saying they have managed to find a formula that can create water on the surface of the Earth's natural satellite - the Moon.
NASA's announcement states that the particles that carry the so-called. sunburst hits the surface of the moon, and at a certain speed, the impact creates favorable conditions for the coupling of hydrogen and oxygen - the elements for creating water.
Experts using computer simulation demonstrated how a hydrogen atom was produced through the interaction of a proton and an electron, and then a hydrogen atom is coupled with oxygen atoms that, because of the heated reaction, are separated from the SiO2 molecule located on the Moon surface.
Scientists argue that to induce such a reaction to create molecules OH or H2O it is necessary to charge the charged particles at the surface of the Moon at a speed of 450 km / h. Only in such a stroke can the particles provoke a reaction to separate oxygen from the molecules on the surface of the moon
NASA physicist William Farrell said that each surface has the potential to produce water if exposed to sunshine. A detailed research report will be published at JGR Planets.
