Apple's Extended Glasses, called Apple Glasses, are the latest boss from the American technology giant's product line. With the newly approved patent, AR glasses will be able to show you more details than your eye may notice.
When Apple Glasses will be ready to appear on the market, the reality display function will be extremely elaborate, elegant and scientific
The US Patent Office recently issued and released a patent that would allow Apple to offer customers glasses to get more detailed information about the objects and the environment.
The patent contains methods for "head-on display" (normally, Apple Glasses is not mentioned directly, but you can guess what it is all about) to display Point of Interest information with small indicators that will show additional details.
Users will be able to get more details about the environment and objects by clicking the finger of the view in their field of view. The front camera of the device (which should have a built-in depth sensor) recognizes the move and displays more or less information about the selected object. For now, we are not sure how the additional information will be displayed on Apple Glasses, without disturbing the user's work.
Apple Glasses glasses should be directly linked to the iPhone's operating system and will not display a virtual but extended reality. Their launch on the market is scheduled for 2021.
The founder of Tesla and Space X again angered the Securities and Exchange Commission. As before, the reason is announcing his Twitter account. The previous big outburst on Twitter cost the board chairman a $ 20 million fine.
The Securities and Exchange Commission has asked the Court in New York to require Mr. Mask for the new tweet. In a new publication on the microblog, he writes
"In 2011 Tesla produced 0 vehicles, in 2019 it will produce almost 500 000".
This is contrary to the previous agreement, by which Mr. Mask was to stop publishing Tesla news from his Twitter account. Specifically, every tweet connected with the company had to be approved by someone from Tesla. For this, even a body for oversight of the announcements of Mr. Mask.
The Commission argues that Mr. Mask did not get permission before he released the tweets. Accordingly, he violated the court agreement and should be held accountable.
If you have forgotten Mr. Mask was accused of influencing the stock market. The tweets, or rather, several, were initially aimed at privatizing Tesla, and then that the funds for privatization were provided. Then the experts thought that Mr. Mask even received and overstated the penalty.
Dark Mode can be an extremely useful option for working in the late hours. There is nothing wrong with the standard white displays, but more and more applications also allow dark displays for their applications, ie displaying a dark white text surface. Such Dark Mode is designed less to burden the eyes at night. Dark Mode is part of Windows 10. Until the October update, the dark mode was limited to Settings and several other applications, but now, the support is considerably expanded and extends through many more applications, including Windows Explorer itself.
To activate it, open Settings by pressing the combination of the Windows and me buttons, clicking Personalization, and then Colors. Choose your default app mode, select Dark.
As we mentioned, it does not work anywhere, but the number of supported applications is constantly growing. In such a thing, you'll see if you try to include News, Calendar, Mail, Store, Weather, or People.
Note that if you make such changes, the dark mode will be active regardless of whether it's a day or night. In case you want to automatically turn on Dark Mode only in the night, you can install the Windows Auto-Night Mode application, available on GitHub. With this tool, you can set, for example, the standard, bright mode from 07:00 to 18:00, and Dark Mode to be activated in hours away from them.
To say that the gaming industry is stagnating, it would be an underestimate of the epic proportions. Every year, hundreds of games are fighting for the attention of gamers. But this industry is extremely cruel and, if you do not have a solid product of interactive entertainment and a proper marketing strategy, your place under the sun is everything just not guaranteed. Many developers, masterfully balance these two things, greatly estimate what hungry gamers are and place their product at the best possible moment, with particular emphasis on the best gameplay mechanics and graphics achievements that are unique to the title. Some other developers, however, have a game that they know is not good, that there are problems and that, at the moment when it comes out, the reviews for that game will be catastrophically bad. It is clear to them that the planned earnings will never be realized and, wanting to make as much profit as possible from early orders, they make the only thing possible - lie.
Such a strategy has long been known and the average gamer has learned to not believe what he sees in trailers and demo shows, as well as taking with him everything that will be heard from numerous interviews. But six games managed to master the world masterfully. Six games reached the top of the unethical placement promises that were in no way a part of the final product. Regardless of how much time has passed, these six games still cause us pain every time we recall the marketing tricks that were used, especially during the period of early orders.
6. Mass Effect 3
Mass Effect 3 was supposed to be an epic science-fiction achievement in which your decisions have real consequences. Game director Casey Hudson has promised that at the end of the game, the numerous choices you have made will be affected. The first two Mass Effect games were phenomenal, especially the couple. Bioware, it was believed, would not fail with the troika. The number of early orders was enormous, and, at the moment the game came out, initial impressions were phenomenal. Mass Effect 3 is truly a dramatic, emotionally rooted and rich game, with phenomenal cinematic experience and a majestic immersion that flows from all sides. And then you came to the last fifteen minutes of the game. After playing hundreds of hours, carefully thinking about all the decisions and approaches through the game, the end was reduced to selecting one of the three colors offered, one of the three ridiculous endings that were absolutely not based on your numerous, previous decisions. Those last fifteen minutes managed to overshadow all the great moments that we spent not only with the third game but with the previous two. He says that the destination is not important, but the journey, apparently never checked out Mass Effect 3.
Watch_Dogs is a really solid title. We remember great moments with the game and, personally, we have nothing wrong to say about the hit of Ubisoft. But that's just because we checked the game much later than her release. We were not part of the horde advertised as the best game in an open world and as a game that completely overcomes the success of GTA III. Through numerous video and demo displays, Watch_Dogs was advertised as a revolution in the graphics department, with elements like wind, dust and dim, with crystal clear, dark blue surfaces, as well as impressive light effects and rich textures. The chip reached the boiling point. And then the release of the game is moved. But promo materials were still super, and Ubisoft is a joke-free company. These are publishers under whose wing are extremely successful serials such as Assassin's Creed and Far Cry. Early orders continue to be taken, and the release of the game is shifted once more. When the game finally comes out, dissatisfaction is instant. The mechanics are present, but not the visual impact. Graphically, the final version of Watch_Dogs was a few years behind the video footage. The weather effects were gone nowhere, and the dark blue visual style was replaced by a painful blend of brown and gray colors. Gamers were betrayed. Many of them could not go through this and completely give up on the gameplay, which, surprisingly, was not too bad.
4. Dead Island
Dead Island has made a critical mistake to advertise as one and to offer something completely different. All those who have raised the emotional trailer and spent only 15 minutes in the game know that the trailer does not represent the correct game. The emotional drama for the unhappy family is nowhere in the game; in fact, they would go one step ahead and say that there is absolutely no drama in the game Dead Island. Those rare moments that could be something like that are incredibly massacred by bad acting and inadequate movie moments. The whole marketing strategy was based on the emotional survival of one family rather than the average co-op game with a disastrously bad system for searching players and a story from which you will just turn your eyes. At the time, the trailer dug up the bases for an emotionally monstrous highpoint, a drama in the purest possible form and survival that preaches for the maniacal massacre of hope. We remember the intensity with which we expected the game. And the disappointment that followed soon after.
3. Colonial Marines
As a game made by the famous Gearbox studio, Colonial Marines was believed to finally offer a decent game for Alien fans. The demo that appeared before the release of the game was absolute perfection for the standards at that time and a legion of fans gained the opinion that it was a complex shooter with a dramatic story. Let's say that Colonial Marines came out as a semi-baked product would be like giving a compliment. Colonial Marines was a chaotic mix of bugs, a title completely operated by any charm and with no touching points with the cult film series. The glitches contributed to the extraterrestrial monsters to start dancing during battles, an artificial intelligence being replaced by intelligence that can be found in one stone and a visual design that is one degree better than the first-graders. The textures that were displayed in the demo trailer, the shadowing and lighting were gone nowhere in the game, even the scene itself was not part of the final product. Famous jujube and critics attacked them as if there were no tomorrow, and a lawsuit for false representation and advertising was being prepared. Gearbox Software was almost completely destroyed by Colonial Marines.
2. Fallout 76
Before the release, game director Todd Howard declared that Fallout 76 was their most ambitious achievement. For this purpose, the game will use advanced technologies for rendering, lighting, and making territory. Such technologies were proud of Todd, allowing them to make up to sixteen times a more detailed game, with distant weather systems scattered across the map. As a game that flies into IMO leads, Fallout 76 has been promising phenomenal systems, like with other players as well as in independent playing, with an impressive quest that, in combination with the power of the graphics engine, will raise new immersive levels. We would not even know how to get out of here. Fallout 76 is not their most ambitious, but the most deadly accomplishment. This is a game of a lifeless world, a disappointing story and a copy of Fallout 4 shocks. This is a parody and a ballad; a paradoxical story about the fall of the Titans and the epic plagiarism lies. What we found in the game were bugs from which hair bleeds, graphics that are not even 1% better than Fallout 4, shamefully downloaded shots, selling clothes that were not only free of charge in Fallout 4, but also looked more beautiful. Let's not even talk about a unique targeting system that in 76 has been brought to such a state to count more than it uses.
1. No Man's Sky
No Man's Sky was believed to move the boundaries of gaming genres and offer a blend of action-adventure gameplay and a strict emphasis on research-surviving elements. No Man's Sky was expected to be an example that would be compared to any previous and future exposure in the gaming industry. What was not expected to do is to promise the sky, but to give it a minimum, to deceive you into an ocean without a bottom, and to drown you in a drop of water. No Man's Sky was supposed to offer space exploration with 18 trillion planets, an epic fantasy in an open world with complex mechanics and revolutionary systems for multiple players. On the way out, No Man's Sky was a broken game, with constant obstacles to movement, texture problems, and freezing the image that made the game extremely playless. Even if we were to set aside technical problems on the side, we would have remained with a completely average survival game - a decoction of unfulfilled promises.
This year we will have the opportunity to witness a revolutionary technological innovation. It's about improving the wireless system as it happens once in a decade, and it will be available to mobile phone users in just a few months.
And no, it's not about faster smartphones. The transition to the 5G mobile wireless network, known as 5G, will affect phones as well as other devices such as industrial robots, security cameras, and drones.
The new era will take the place of the already existing 4G network and will allow the phones a faster speed for downloading and loading data, and the changes will be felt in the field of video games, sports, and trade. Experts from the United States and China say this technology will contribute to the wider use of artificial intelligence, but also in several other fields.
Samsung recently presented the prototype phones with 5G technology. Many companies are already on the 5G crossing train but it is not expected that Apple will be in the first wave of switching to this technology. Analysts predict that the new technology will be available on iPhone models only after 2020.
As for smartphone users in the US, the 5G network will be available to them in the second quarter of 2019. However, the smartphones currently on the market are not equipped to support the 5G network, and Samsung's first 5G devices will arrive somewhere at the end of the first half of this year. Immediately after the United States, the 5G network will reach Britain, Germany, Switzerland, China, South Korea, and Australia.
5G is actually a set of technical rules that define the way cellular networks operate, including radio frequencies, but also how different components like computer chips and antennas exchange messages. In order to be able to use this network, users will have to buy new phones.
It depends on where you live and what wireless service you use. Qualcomm, a wireless chipmaker, said the tests showed a speed of 4.5 gigabits per second, but that the initial speed was 1.4 gigabytes - 20 times faster than the 4G network.
Microsoft announced the second generation of HoloLens in Barcelona at the MWC in Barcelona. The device was presented by the director of HoloLens Alex Kipman and Microsoft Director Satya Nadella. The focus is on hardware, of course, but for a truly mature platform, software is far more important, and Microsoft has both presented this time.
Microsoft HoloLens 2 is better than its predecessor, and the company focused on three elements, immobilism, comfort, and time-to-value.
The new device has twice the wider field where the holograms can be seen. This was and is still one of the most common remarks when the glasses of extended reality are in question. The upgrade is made with a new display that allows all novelties to be without changes in quality and energy consumption. Additionally, the company has a new depth sensor for this version, which in combination with artificial intelligence allows for the manipulation of holograms. Manipulation is intuitive and is the same as in reality moving or twisting an object.
The center of gravity of HoloLens 2 is moved, making the device more comfortable for longer wear, and therefore for use. Additionally, new materials are used and each device can be used by everyone without much change. The team also spent part of the development in assessing the appearance of the head and bones of the head, so no one size is sufficient for all, or at least for the majority of users. According to Microsoft, users will be able to carry HoloLens 2 for hours before experiencing discomfort.
Probably the most important change is not in the hardware but in the functionality of Dynamic365. Through the cloud, companies will be able to use HoloLens 2 to create tutorials and even serious and complex guidelines for employees. This is exactly how the company will earn from HoloLens. The service is available through a subscription, in particular, a combination of a subscription to the service and purchase of HoloLens installments. Probably the best way to explain this is through the price. HoloLens 2 will cost $ 3,500, this is a high price, but it is still $ 1,500 cheaper than the previous model. However, with a three-year subscription to the Dynamic 365 remote Assistant, the service and hardware will cost the buyer $ 4,500, or $ 125 a month for 3 years. With a subscription of 1 year will cost the buyer $ 3,900, or 325 dollars a month.
The price is certainly not low, but companies will be able to save in several ways. First of all, the training will not necessarily have to change the location, which will certainly reduce the cost of training employees. The second and probably more importantly, the device can be used to increase the productivity of each employee. The example used by Microsoft to explain how HoloLens works are as follows:
"In front of me is a terrain vehicle that lacks a screw. On the side, I see a flashing indicator pointing to a bucket with the correct screws. I went up there, I leaned over to look closely and took one. Back in front of the vehicle, I see a list of holographic instructions that tells me and shows where the screw should be placed. After a few minutes, I have successfully repaired it - under the guidance of a hologram. By pressing a button, I turn off the instructions, "they say from Verge.
What is most important for the device is that this time the company advertises the device for professional use in a plant, in a workshop, or in a warehouse. The target group of the new HoloLens is the companies, and it seems that it is here that there may be the most interest in the devices.
Even when the user does not have HoloLens, it will be able to access Dynamic 365 via an iPhone or Android phone. Through the Azure Remote Rendering, the holographic projection will be sent to the user's phone so that it can use Dynamic 365 Remote Assist and Product Visualize.
Microsoft accused Fancy Bear of cyber attacks on civil liberties groups in Europe. The company announced this on its blog in the announcement of the expansion of Microsoft AccountGuard in Europe.
The company did not mention Russia, but the announcement is a shared text of Politico in which Russia is accused of interfering in the elections in Europe. The aim of the attacks is several organizations: the German Council on Foreign Relations, the Aspen Institute in Europe and the German Marshall Fund. Only in these three organizations, the company has found 104 profiles that have been attacked and employees are in several countries. Employees of these think tanks and targeted NGOs have been found in Belgium, France, Germany, Poland, Romania, and Serbia.
Microsoft blamed the Strontium group for the attacks. This group is probably also known as "Fancy Bear". Many security experts link this group with the Russian authorities. Hackers from this group are suspected of multiple attacks, and probably become best known after the release of the Democratic Party's data in the United States and allegations of interference in the US election.
The group is extremely skillful. In the ranking of security experts, CrowdStrike Russian state hackers are far ahead of the rest. The company estimates that "bears" need less than 18 minutes to start spreading as soon as they succeed in compromising one entry point. North Korea's hackers are second in second place, which are 7 times slower and their average time is 2 hours and 20 minutes, according to Security Week.
Although February is the fastest month, the gaming industry is experiencing extremely difficult days. For a week, Activision Blizzard sacked 800 people, although last year marked sales of $ 7.5 billion and nearly $ 2 billion net profit. Taman fell dust from such a fiasco, we began to read about numerous, possible layoffs in ArenaNet.
According to Kotaku's report, ArenaNet, a studio with around 400 employees, will soon face numerous layoffs. From an email sent by NCSoft's executive director, Songji Yun, it reads that:
According to Kotaku's report, ArenaNet, a studio with around 400 employees, will soon face numerous layoffs. From an email sent by NCSoft's executive director, Songji Yun, it reads that:
"The earnings from our live service model (in Guild Wars 2) are significantly reduced as the aging game, delays in PC and mobile projects are further reducing our resources, and the costs in the west are greatly increased. We can not maintain it this way and we will not be capable of future success. "
ArenaNet CEO Mike Owyane had a meeting to discuss future layoffs, and to merge the publishing department of ArenaNet with that of NCSoft.
Soon after the Kotaku report, and ArenaNet announced their forum.
"We know that you have a lot of questions about the future of Guild Wars 2. We would like to share with you what you could expect for the game in the future. First and foremost, we are fully committed to all our players and to the further support of the game. From the fourth season of Living World, we will continue on the fifth, just as we promised you, and we plan to continue with regular updates and novelties. "
Meanwhile, other channels at ArenaNet contacted several prominent sites and left the following statement:
"We can confirm that due to the cancellation of still unannounced projects, ArenaNet will begin to reduce the number of employees. This is part of a larger organizational reconstruction in NCSOFT in the West, but Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 services will not be affected, nor will any future content for the game be canceled. "
Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 will definitely be affected by this.
ArenaNet explains that layoffs are due to their unannounced projects. Jessica Price, an extremely toxic writer who was fired by the creative team of Guild Wars 2 for numerous attacks on the gaming population, has already confirmed that ArenaNet has worked on two unannounced projects. She also admitted that, while working on the seasons, they were often financially restricted and, for the key, fifth episode, All or Nothing, they were primarily told that they could have only one film scene.
On the other hand, the executive director of NCSoft, the company that quashed Wildstar's MMO game without blinking an eye, is not just talking about the losses they suffer from unannounced projects. She explains that they are suffering huge losses due to the unprofitable life service model. Under life service, it is thought of ArenaNet's decision to post a single episode every three months. In each of those episodes, there is a new story, map, weapons, and equipment. Profit is created through a micro-transaction store where cosmetic items and prey boxes are offered. What Sonji Yun says is that such practice of free episodes, while offering cosmetic things through the store is not profitable for an MMO game of 2012, which means that something will have to be done in this regard as well. If ArenaNet claims that the Guild Wars team will not suffer layoffs, then the quality of future episodes will definitely be reduced and if a movie scene was primarily a problem for one of the most important episodes of the season, we can only imagine what other hurdles it will now encounter the team. In addition, the Guild Wars 2 forum, not at ArenaNet, but on the Guild Wars 2 forum, the above statement ends with the following sentence:
"We are deeply grateful to all of you for all your support in this difficult time."
Hard time, really.
Scientists from the US space agency NASA released a statement saying they have managed to find a formula that can create water on the surface of the Earth's natural satellite - the Moon.
NASA's announcement states that the particles that carry the so-called. sunburst hits the surface of the moon, and at a certain speed, the impact creates favorable conditions for the coupling of hydrogen and oxygen - the elements for creating water.
Experts using computer simulation demonstrated how a hydrogen atom was produced through the interaction of a proton and an electron, and then a hydrogen atom is coupled with oxygen atoms that, because of the heated reaction, are separated from the SiO2 molecule located on the Moon surface.
Scientists argue that to induce such a reaction to create molecules OH or H2O it is necessary to charge the charged particles at the surface of the Moon at a speed of 450 km / h. Only in such a stroke can the particles provoke a reaction to separate oxygen from the molecules on the surface of the moon
NASA physicist William Farrell said that each surface has the potential to produce water if exposed to sunshine. A detailed research report will be published at JGR Planets.
An Israeli company last night launched its first mission on the moon. The Falcon rocket flew from Cape Canaveral to Florida carrying a privately funded robot called Beresheet.
If the landing is successful, this will be the first private lender to reach the surface of the moon. So far, it has done only rows of the governments of the United States, China, and Russia.
The SpaceX Falcon rocket sent Beresheet to the Earth's atmosphere and hence it will independently extend the two-month journey.
Behind Beresheet is the company SpaceIL, and its goal is the landing of the robot to serve as an inspiration for other and better missions.
Beresheet costs about $ 100 million, and after landing will shoot the environment and will examine the magnetic features of the moon. Also, the robot will be able to move, so the tasks will be performed in multiple locations.
SpaceIL was one of the candidates for the Google Lunar XPRIZE Award for a funded Moon mission to be provided by the tech giant.
Nobody got the prize because no company "did not meet the required criteria". However, some of them continued to realize their ideas, and SpaceIL is one of them.
