Ghost Recon Breakpoint significantly harmed Ubisoft's financial picture as the game did not reach the expected quality level. However, as Ubisoft is committed to the idea of the game as a service, the unlucky Breakpoint can't just dismiss it and move the development team to another project. So they promised to fix things with some radical changes.
For now, they are focused on technically patching the game, that is, fixing bugs. They announced that they will launch a new update in the middle of the 11th month, and another at the end of the same month. Thereafter, in the twelfth month, they will devote themselves to the launch of additional content. The game will thus receive a Terminator Live event and then the first raid called Project Titan.
It was also confirmed that the game would get AI suborders, something GR Wildlands had, and Breakpoint left out. However, it takes a little longer to implement Ubisoft's add-on, so it is not yet known when teammates will be available in the game.
The radical change that Ubisoft announces is related to freedom of choice. They acknowledge that some Breakpoint design decisions have triggered polarized player reactions, and based on feedback, will offer players the freedom to decide for themselves what kind of game they want to play. This probably means that in the future there will be a mode in which Breakpoint will be able to play without survival mechanics and/or without collecting equipment. More details will be revealed when these "radical changes" are ready.
Of course, this will only help in part - things like a boring story and poor artificial intelligence of the opponent are likely to remain the reality of Ghost Recon Breakpoint.
